New iQOO Neo9S Pro upgrades to the Dimensity 9300+, remains the same price

At the very end of last year, iQOO unveiled the Neo9 and Neo9 Pro. The Pro model is equipped with a Dimensity 9300 chipset and had a starting price (for a 12/256 GB phone) of CNY 3,000. As you may have heard, MediaTek has a plus version of Dimensity 9300 and some phones receive a mid-term renewal.

The new iQOO Neo9S Pro is one such phone, although there is no vanilla model this time. iQOO partnered with the NBA for this launch and buyers can win tickets to the NBA Finals. Partner retailers in China will start taking pre-orders today.

Apart from the upgrade to Dimensity 9300+, the new S phone still uses the Q1 chip that iQOO developed in-house to improve the gaming experience by providing a more stable frame rate. The GPU of the 9300+ is the same as that of the 9300, it is the CPU and APU that have been boosted.

The chipset is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The screen is a 144 Hz LTPO OLED with a diagonal of 6.78 inches and a resolution of 1,260 x 2,800 pixels (20:9). The display uses 2,160 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The camera punch in the display is the same 16 MP module as before

On the back, the Neo9S Pro houses a pair of 50MP rear cameras, with the main module using a Sony IMX920 sensor. The back shows off the new ‘Star White’ color scheme, the glass has a soft satin finish. The plain black color scheme is still available, as is the red/white version with a faux leather back and decorative stitching.

As with the original, the battery has a capacity of 5,160 mAh and can be charged super-fast at 120W (but there is no wireless charging).

The new S model borrows one more thing from the original Neo9 Pro: the price. The base model starts at CNY 3,000 (converts $415/€380/₹35,250). There are more variants: 12/512GB for CNY 3,300, 16/512GB for CNY 3,600 and 16GB/1TB for CNY 4,000.

There’s no word on whether the Neo9S Pro will be available worldwide. Note that the original Neo9 Pro was announced in China in late December and then in February another iQOO Neo9 Pro came along, this time with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a price tag of ₹34,000 for an 8/128GB phone (it made its debut in USA).

Anyway, you can find the new iQOO Neo9S Pro Tmall.
