The Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration edition is now available for pre-order

Huawei’s Watch 4 Pro was released last June, but now the company is updating it with a Special edition of Space Explorationwhich one has went on pre-order in China today ahead of its April 12 release.

The price is CNY 4,999 (approximately $691 or €637 at current exchange rates). It’s apparently inspired by the design of space-bound rockets, and it has a ceramic bezel and sapphire glass with a diamond-like coating – which should make it twice as stiff as other glass, and thus more resistant to damage.

The watch comes with a titanium bracelet and supports Ultra Wide Band (UWB). This can be used for touchless access the Aito M9 carco-developed by Huawei, which unlocks once the wearer is within 8 meters.

You can also control the car with your voice via the watch, open the windows or trunk and check the status of the car via the Aito app on the watch. There is also a special Aito dial, which can be customized to your liking.

The Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration edition has an eSIM and allows you to make calls without your smartphone being nearby. Huawei has 13 health indicators and a more accurate health report than other smartwatches.

The watch has a water resistance of 5ATM/50 meters, is 49.1 mm long and 12.9 mm thick and weighs 68 grams. The screen is a 1.5-inch 466×466 AMOLED. It can be paired with phones running Huawei’s HarmonyOS 2.0 and above, Android 8.0 and above, and even iOS 13 and above. In normal mode, battery life is advertised as 4.5 days, while in battery saver mode it can go up to 21 days.
